About Emma (she/her)

Emma Hutchinson, RCC, RSW

A little bit more about me and the counselling services I offer: I work one-on-one with people ages 15 and up and strive to create a warm, compassionate, and open-minded space where you feel safe to explore the areas that bring you to counselling. I believe that possibility and potential arise when we are supported to tap into our innate wisdom, resources, strengths, and purpose.

I have been in the social work field for several years and feel privileged to have walked alongside people during significant parts of their journeys.  I have worked with people in recovery from substance use challenges, with parents and youth, and with individuals who have sought support around a variety of issues including grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, and relationship concerns. Because of these experiences, I believe deeply in people's ability to heal, shift long held patterns, and improve their relationships with the ones they care for the most.

I have a Masters in Social Work with a counselling focus. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Registered Social Worker (RSW) I'm covered by many insurance programs for counselling services.

On a personal note, I live in the Comox Valley with my young adult children, partner, and our sweet dog and sweet-and salty-cats. I love to grow food, play music, spend time in nature, and be with family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you!
